Hit us where it hurts – Kolo

(22-11-2010) Kolo Toure reckons his Manchester City teammates should be hit where it really hurts – in their pockets - unless they start working harder. On Sunday the Cote d’Ivoire star called on the club to cut wages in order to get the best out of some of the players. "There are some players here, I am not scared to say, who are not working hard enough for the team," Toure told the News of the World newspaper. "Some don't do enough in training but still expect to play. We all get big wages but some need to work harder.” He added: "As players, we have the best job in the world and if the manager said 'you haven't worked hard enough, you will only get half your wages this week' it would make players fight harder. Football is not just about money, it's about winning trophies.”
