Rivals set for battle and other transfer rumours
Fierce rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are set to fight it out for one of England’s most exciting young talents. Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is the man in question, with United and City expected to lock horns over his signature in the January transfer window. The 18-year-old midfielder-cum-defender made his EPL debut in March last year and has made 27 appearances for the club so far. Elsewhere, out-of-favour Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena is set to join Italian side Napoli on loan in the January transfer window, Fulham hope to sign Roma's former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise for £3m in January to team him up with his younger brother, midfielder Bjorn Helge, who is already at Craven Cottage, and Birmingham are ready to pay Glasgow Rangers £3m for midfielder Steven Davis and £1m for striker Kris Boyd.
