Only ourselves to blame – Wenger

Arsene Wenger admitted his Arsenal charges only had themselves to blame for Saturday’s disastrous 1-0 defeat to Sunderland. The result, courtesy of Darrne Bent’s 71st minute winner, leaves the Gunners eight points off the EPL lead. It was also the first time this season that they had failed to score a goal in the league. "We lost a game and we can only fault ourselves because we didn't score. Some players were not at their best and we gave a goal away on the only situation where Sunderland could score one today, a set-piece, and that sums it up well," said Wenger after the match at the Stadium of Light. "Rather than focusing on any individual, I believe it's more down to the fact that we made a big mistake on the corner, because the game was there for the taking in the last 20 minutes."
