Finally, some good news for Liverpool!
Steven Gerrard is confident he will be fit to start Saturday’s crunch clash with Manchester City. The inspirational captain has been carrying a nagging groin injury and missed England’s recent internationals in a bid to recover. He has also had a series of pain killing injections as he bids to regain full fitness. "The aim is to get a good week's training in so I'm ready for the game with City," said Gerrard on Thursday. "I'm looking forward to the weekend. I've had a problem in my groin that has taken a while to get over but I'm just relieved the second injection seems to have done the trick." The Reds are 11 points off the pace in the EPL and will exit the Champions League at the group stages if Fiorentina win at home against Lyon next Tuesday.
