Blues ready to splash cash and other transfer rumours

Chelsea will pull out all the stops to land Frank Ribery. According to reports, the Blues have already failed to tempt Bayern Munich with a £70m bid for the French superstar but are now prepared to smash the world transfer record to land the winger. They will however have to beat off Real Madrid who are hopeful of partnering Ribery with Cristiano Ronaldo in a dream midfield. Elsewhere, AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso - a target for Manchester City - has no intention of leaving the Italian club, according to their coach Leonardo; Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is tracking Argentine Diego Buonanotte and Mexican winger Nestor Calderon; and Manchester City are keeping an eye on Barcelona’s Brazilian superstar right back Dani Alves, which could spell the end of Micah Richards spell at the club.
