Fergie slapped with ban
Sir Alex Ferguson’s ranting at referees has finally landed him in hot water. On Wednesday the Football Association banned the fiery Manchester United manager for two matches and slapped him with a £20,000 fine for his remarks about referee Alan Wiley's fitness after his side's 2-2 draw with Sunderland on 3 October. He was also warned about his future conduct. Ferguson will serve the touchline ban in United’s forthcoming EPL matches at home to Everton (21 November) and away at Portsmouth (28 November). It’s not the first time he’s had a run in with the FA. In the 2007/08 season he was given a two-match touchline ban and fined £5,000 for a rant at referee Mark Clattenburg during a match at Bolton. And last season he was banned for two games and fined £10,000 after remonstrating with referee Mike Dean after a match against Hull.
