EPL stars survive Egyptian stoning

Three EPL stars have narrowly escaped severe injuries after their team bus was stoned in Egypt. Portsmouth’s Nadir Belhadj and Hassan Yebda, and Hull City's Kamel Ghilas, are on international duty with Algeria for Saturday’s crucial World Cup qualifier in Cairo. The Algerian bus came under attack from a mob of stone throwing hooligans on Friday. Four of the trio’s team-mates needed stitches to their heads and faces after being cut by shattering glass, while several others were also hit by missiles. And in an amazing twist, the Egyptian media claim the bus ambush was a hoax. Tensions have run high in the build-up to the decisive match, which Egypt need to win by three goals to reach next year’s finals.
