Foster 'disheartened' by Sir Alex
Ben Foster has admitted that he is finding the going hard at Manchester United but is determined to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford. When the season kicked off the young England goalkeeper deputised for the injured Edwin van der Sar but after several shakey performances he now finds himself behind the Dutchman and Tomasz Kuszczak. "I'm third choice for United yet I'm playing for my country," said Foster after England's 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday. "It's very disheartening not even to be on the bench, but I can't go saying 'I want to leave' or anything like that." And he’s not letting it scupper his World Cup dream. "It is everything for a footballer to go to the World Cup. I have just got to see what happens." Foster, David James, and Robert Green look like being England’s goalkeepers at the World Cup.
