Fergie hails Giggs’ dazzling display
Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Ryan Giggs for his stellar performance in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Portsmouth. Giggs, who turns 36 on Sunday, also capped a near faultless display by bagging his 100th career goal for the Red Devils. "Ryan's an exceptional player — a rarity. He will play for two more years yet," commented Fergie after the game at Fratton Park. "He's 36 tomorrow so happy birthday to him." United’s other three goals came from the boot of Wayne Rooney, two of which were from the penalty spot. Portsmouth’s lone goal also came from a spot kick after Nemanja Vidic was penalised for a tug on Frederic Piquionne's shirt. Kevin-Prince Boateng tucked it away. The result leaves United just two points behind EPL leaders Chelsea. The Blues play Arsenal on Sunday.
