Horse cure for Reds stars

It seems like 'placenta therapy' is suddenly all the rage when it comes to a speedy recovery from injury. Following Tuesday’s revelation that Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie was headed for Serbia to be treated by a woman who uses horse placenta in a radical new massage technique, comes the news that Liverpool stars Glen Johnson and Fabio Aurelio are also headed for Belgrade to be treated by Mariana Kovacevic. Apparently the duo are seeking the treatment after their team-mate Yossi Benayoun, who feared he would be sidelined for a month, received the treatment last weekend and now expects to play against Manchester City on Saturday. According to reports, Van Persie was seen hobbling around his 5-star Belgrade hotel on Thursday but confirmed: "The treatment is going well." A placenta is a membrane expelled by female mammals during birth. Kovacevic massages liquid from a horse's placenta into an affected area.
