Fergie seethes at Gerrard’s blunder

Sir Alex Ferguson was seething on Sunday after Steven Gerrard gifted Chelsea their opening goal at Anfield. The Liverpool captain set up Didier Drogba with a shocking back pass after 33 minutes as the Blues tightened their grip on the EPL with a 2-0 win. The result saw them retain their single point lead over Manchester United with one match remaining. "I just saw it after the game. It was a great gift,” fumed Ferguson on Sunday. "There is nothing you can do about it. You just have to get on with it." The fiery Scot also admitted that the Red Devils were "clutching at straws" despite their 1-0 victory at Sunderland later on Sunday. United must beat Stoke in their final game of the season and hope Chelsea fail to beat Wigan at Stamford Bridge. Fergie added: "You never know what can happen. Football is a crazy game.”
