Red Devils to keep a tight purse
Manchester United are unlikely to spend big in the offseason. On Tuesday manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he was happy with the balance of his current squad. The club’s chief executive David Gill has already indicated that funds are available to spend this summer. Fergie has so far signed rising Mexican star Javier Hernandez from Guadalajara and defender Chris Smalling from Fulham. But now it seems unlikely that a raft of new faces will follow as many United fans had expected. Speaking at a press conference, Fergie commented: "In the market today it's very difficult and the structure of our squad is good in terms of ages, the balance, the numbers and there's a lot of good young players. Sometimes you have to trust in all the development of the last few years and I'm going to stick with that, or most of it.”
