Special One eyes ageing England duo
Incoming Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has his eye on Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. The Special One has long been an admirer of the England midfielders and believes their experience is what is needed to take Real past Barcelona and make them kings of Europe. Mourinho is expected to be announced as Real's new coach shortly with speculation mounting regarding the players he will sign. He worked with Lampard in his Chelsea days while he tried to sign Gerrard when he was in the Stamford Bridge hot seat. Speaking to Spanish sports daily AS, Mourinho said: "I love to have some players who are 33 or 34 years old...they are players that you buy and you won't recover this money, but if they give you good performances for two or three years you've got your money's worth. Both (Gerrard and Lampard) are great players who always give everything."
