Foster’s on his merry way
Ben Foster is expected to complete his move from Manchester United to Birmingham in the next couple of days. According to reports a fee of £6m has been agreed by the clubs for the one-time England international. The move will give the 27-year-old a chance to resurrect what was once such a promising career. Foster started out this past season with the very real hope of displacing veteran Ed Van der Sar as United’s first choice ‘keeper. But after a series of high-profile gaffes when the Dutchman was out injured early in the season, Sir Alex Ferguson quickly lost patience. Foster has been at United for five years, two of which were spent on loan at Watford. He has apparently accepted that there is no future for him at Old Trafford, especially as Fergie has persuaded Van der Sar to sign a one-year contract extension.
