Crouch expects Carra to ‘roar’

Peter Crouch has tipped rejuvenated Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher to ‘roar’ when he pulls on the Three Lions shirt of England. Carragher, who retired from international football two years ago, was a surprise selection in Fabio Capello’s provisional 30-man World Cup squad. Tottenham striker Crouch believes the 32-year-old will silence his doubters by playing a leading role in South Africa next month. "I played with Carragher for a number of years when I was at Liverpool and he's been a top class centre-half for a long time. He has played in Europe and has a great deal of experience. Although he has been away from the England set-up for a little bit, you know he's going to come in and be able to fit into the high-pressure games. He's played at the top level for a number of years and he's never going to let anyone down."
