CL heartache for Ribery
There was heartache for Bayern Munich ace Franck Ribery on Monday when his appeal against the ban that will see him miss Saturday's Champions League final was dismissed. The French wizard picked up the suspension after being sent off for a foul on Lyon's Lisandro Lopez in the first leg of the semi-finals. He later took his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after UEFA threw out his appeal to be allowed to face Inter Milan. The 27-year-old had hoped for the ban to be reduced to one game, allowing him to play in the final at Madrid's Bernabeu stadium. But now he will have to sit out Bayern's attempt to add the Champions League to the Bundesliga title and the German Cup they have already won.
