Reds want Bundesliga goal ace and other red-hot gossip
Liverpool are ready to replace Fernando Torres with Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko. Apparently Wolfsburg are demanding Liverpool give them Ryan Babel and Lucas Leiva plus cash for a player they value at about £30m. The Bosnian has been the top scorer in the German Bundesliga for the past two seasons. Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly ready to slug it out for the signature of Spanish striker Torres. Elsewhere, Ireland midfielder Stephen Ireland has told Manchester City that he wants to leave the club; Manchester City are ready to offer £20m for Everton's 28-year-old midfielder Mikel Arteta; Robbie Keane is set to move from Tottenham to Aston Villa in a £15m deal; and Joe Cole could renew his acquaintance with Harry Redknapp as Tottenham close in on the England midfielder who has yet to agree a new contract with Chelsea.
