Rooney’s a Red for life

Wayne Rooney insists he will never leave Manchester United, despite pleas from Cristiano Ronaldo to join him at Real Madrid. Ronaldo recently claimed that Rooney would blossom in La Liga. But Rooney, whose wife gave birth to their first child this week, claims he wants to pass Ryan Giggs all-time United appearances record. "You look at the things he done, the things he's won and for me he's the perfect role model," Rooney told the Mirror newspaper. "I've always said that I'd like to end my career here and if I could emulate what Giggsy has done at this club then it would be an amazing achievement," added the 24-year-old striker, who has scored seven goals this season.
