Financial behemoths waiting to pounce on Torres
Liverpool are on high alert to fight off any approach for star striker Fernando Torres. But with Torres said to be considering his Anfield future because of what he sees as a lack of investment in the team, the club’s boss’s face a tough time keeping him on Merseyside. Already monitoring the situation are Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea, all of whom are ready to break the bank for his services. However, sources close to the Spanish international claim that he is more likely to remain at Anfield if Rafa Benitez is replaced as manager of the club, as he has lost respect for his fellow countryman after their disastrous season.
