RVN in shock EPL return and other transfer rumours

Ruud Van Nistlerooy could be set for a surprise return to the EPL. According to reports, Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the prolific Dutch goal ace who is out of contract at Real Madrid at the end of the season. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp may however be put off by Van Nistelrooy’s £100,000-a-week wage demands.Elsewhere, Liverpool are keen on Hamburg's Dutch midfielder Eljero Elia and may move for him in the January transfer window, while Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan says he is unable to prevent £10m-rated winger Adam Johnson from leaving the club, with Sunderland his likely destination.
