Vida surprised by United’s lofty position

(04-01-2011) Manchester United are far from their best form, yet they are top of the league, claims a surprised Nemanja Vidic. The Red Devils have drawn seven of their nine away games this season. "If someone had predicted we would lose this many points I'd have said we would not win the league, that's for sure,” said the club’s captain on Monday. "Our away record is not something we're proud of, yet here we are top and still unbeaten. But we want to improve and we must play better." United's fortunate New Year's Day win at West Brom was only their second on the road this term. "If we had won just half of the away games we have drawn we would have been out of reach by now,” added Vidic. United play Stoke tonight.
