Walcott admits to taking a dive
(09-01-2011) Theo Walcott has remarkably claimed that he dived to try and win Arsenal a penalty in Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Leeds United at the Emirates. While he was unsuccessful after the tackle by Paul Connolly in the third-round clash, he later did earn his side an injury-time penalty that Cesc Fabregas converted to bring the Gunners level with the visitors who had earlier taken a 54th minute lead also via the penalty spot. "I want to apologise to the managers because I actually dived - I was trying to win the penalty,” admitted the 21-year-old afterwards. "I am not happy with myself for doing that but I am happy that we got the draw. He added: "I had a little joke with the referee afterwards saying 'that was my first dive, can you tell?'.”
