Two clubs in race for Adebayor

(06-01-2011) Tottenham and Liverpool are set to fight it out for the services of Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togo international has cut an increasingly frustrated figure at Manchester City this season. The imminent arrival of Edin Dzeko at Eastlands means that he will have fallen further down the club’s striking pecking order. He also did himself no favours this week by having a training ground bust-up with Kolo Toure. This has alerted both the Reds and Spurs who want to take the 26-year-old on a loan until the end of the season. City paid Arsenal £25m for the player 18 months ago. He is on wages of £160,000-a-week and City want any club who take him to foot then entire bill.
