Gunners to finally get their man and other red-hot gossip

(21-01-2011) Bolton's Gary Cahill has been cleared to join Arsenal after the Trotters signed Middlesbrough's David Wheater as his replacement on Thursday. The Gunners have been on Cahill’s tail for a long time as they seek to shore up their defence which has been decimated by injury this season. Elsewhere, Sunderland have ruled out a move for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, claiming he "doesn't quite suit us now"; Zenit St Petersburg are interested in taking striker Andrey Arshavin back from Arsenal; Manchester United have been warned off a summer move for Japanese star Shinji Kagawa, with Borussia Dortmund valuing him at £20m; and Chelsea have earmarked Manchester City's Joleon Lescott as an alternative if they fail to prise defender David Luiz from Benfica.
