Toffees warn Spurs to keep their hands off Phil
(12-01-2011) Everton boss David Moyes has warned Tottenham to keep their hands off Phil Neville. This comes amidst several reports linking the versatile former Manchester United man, and erstwhile Everton captain, with a move to White Hart Lane. And on Tuesday, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp described Neville as a "great player" but added any possible move would be "difficult ". Commenting later, Toffees boss Moyes told the club's official website: "I spoke with Harry Redknapp briefly before the transfer window opened. Daniel Levy (Spurs chairman) and Bill Kenwright (Everton chairman) had an even briefer conversation at our recent game against Spurs and mutually agreed that this would go no further.” Added Moyes: "At no time was any offer made - nor would one have been welcomed. Phil Neville is our captain and is an important part of the Everton set-up."
