United ‘Big Guns’ to return

(29-01-2011) Manchester United expect Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to face Aston Villa on Tuesday night. Both men have been carrying knocks of late and have been given time to rest their respective ailments. Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson opted to shuffle his entire defensive pack in the FA Cup win over Southampton on Saturday. He is, however, expected to revert back to his tried and tested performers in midweek, with Vidic and Ferdinand set to take up their regular roles. Rafael and Patrice Evra should also be returned to the side, with Edwin van der Sar reclaiming the number one jersey from Anders Lindegaard. "Vidic should be alright," Ferguson told United's official website. "Rio started running on Thursday and hopefully will be okay by Tuesday.”
