‘Hands off Andy’

(16-01-2011) Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has warned Tottenham to stay away from their star striker Andy Carroll. Spurs are believed to be ready to offer the Magpies £30m for the England marksman. The 22-year-old was in the stands at the Stadium of Light on Sunday to watch his team’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland as he continued his recovery from a thigh injury. "They can put together whatever they like. He is not for sale,” said Pardew after the clash with Sunderland. "I am going to say it one last time, he is not for sale." Tottenham clash with Newcastle at St James' Park next Saturday, and Pardew is hopeful that Carroll will be fit to line up against his suitors. "I hope so. He was certainly smarting in the dressing room today wanting to play,” added Pardew.
