Becks deal will happen – ‘appy ‘arry

(08-01-2011) Tottenham hope that former England captain David Beckham will have joined them on a short-term loan deal by Sunday. The North London club have been speaking to the 35-year-old’s current club LA Galaxy, with the Americans understood to be open to his move. "It will probably get done," said Spurs boss Harry Redknapp on Friday. "The clubs are talking and there's a good chance it will happen." And in an intriguing twist, Beckham's first match could be against his former club Manchester United. The Red Devils visit White Hart Lane next Sunday. "I still think he has something to offer as a player. He could lift the level of performance of the other players. He will be a good influence about the place,” added Reknapp.
