City won’t move for Italian legend – Mancini

(13-01-2011) Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has ruled out ever making a move to sign Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. The Italian international, who is widely considered to be the best stopper on the planet, was a City target last year. Mancini, however, believes that incumbent City ‘keeper Joe Hart is up to the task of guarding the Blues goal. "The way I see it is that Buffon remains one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” Mancini told sports newspaper Tuttosport. "But we have decided for some time to stick on Hart, who is a young player with enormous potential.” He added: "We believe so much in him to the point of having sacrificed a great number one like (Shay) Given. Hence, I can categorically say that we will never make any offers for Buffon."
