Reds rebuffed in transfer dealings
(25-01-2011) Liverpool are reeling after their bids to sign Luis Suarez and Charlie Adam were rebuffed. According to reports, Blackpool have refused Adam’s request for a transfer, while Ajax’s £26m valuation of Uruguay goal ace Suarez is way off what the Reds are prepared to spend. "Liverpool was one of the teams on my list I'd be prepared to sell Charlie to, but if they don't make the right offer my chairman will dig his heels in and I'll have one very unhappy player," commented Blackpool manager Ian Holloway on Monday. Meanwhile, Anfield director of football Damien Comolli flew to Holland on Monday for brief talks about Suarez, but his £12.7m offer was rejected. Elsewhere, winger Ryan Babel has done an about-turn and will join German side Hoffenheim - hours after Kop boss Kenny Dalglish insisted he was staying.
