Act like leaders – King Kenny

(15-01-2011) New Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has called on his players to act like leaders when they take the field in Sunday’s Merseyside Derby against Everton. The midweek loss at Blackpool hammered home the size of the task facing the Liverpool legend - and he must go into battle tomorrow without banned skipper Steven Gerrard and injured Jamie Carragher. "There's not a team in the EPL which wouldn't appreciate having Stevie and Carra in the team and we are no different,” commented Dalglish on Friday. "They're two big players but they're not available this weekend, so in that respect they're not important. What is are the ones who are available and within that we have got to get leadership. They are all leaders and all have to take on their own responsibility and not shy away from it.” Liverpool currently languish in 13th, just four points from the drop zone.
