Spurs in shock move for Magpies star

(05-01-2011) Tottenham have made a shock move for talented young Newcastle striker Andy Carroll. According to reports, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy contacted Toon officials to ask about the £30m-rated star's availability. Levy, however, was rebuffed but this has not put the White Hart Lane club off. Tottenham are looking to bid £20m but it is understood Newcastle will demand at least £30m. Spurs could also offer forward Robbie Keane, winger David Bentley and midfielder Niko Kranjcar in exchange for Carroll. Manchester City and Chelsea are also eyeing the striker, who has 11 goals this season.
