Owen happy with United role

Michael Owen is very happy with his role as bit-part striker at Manchester United. The former England international, who scored in the Carling Cup final on Sunday, insists it is better winning trophies for the Red Devils than starting regularly at a smaller club. "I'd like to play a lot more, obviously, but you try getting into the team with Wayne Rooney playing like this!" said the 30-year-old on Monday. "I've played for teams that haven't been doing well in the league and I'd prefer to be playing a lesser role, but training every day with real top-quality players.I've had a fantastic first year in United colours and scored some goals." Owen has made eleven starts for United this season and has been involved in 42 of their 44 games.
