Neville may soldier on
Ageing Manchester United defender Gary Neville looks set to spend one more year at Old Trafford. He is out of contract at the end of the season, which has led to much speculation about his future. There has been talk of retirement or a possible move to rejoin younger brother Phil at Everton, but United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Neville still has lots to offer. "I think we could probably get another year out of him. He is a great professional,” Fergie told the People newspaper on Sunday. "His professionalism is borne out by the fact that he missed almost a year and a half of football and has come back.” Neville is 35 and made his debut for the club in the early 1990s. He has battled niggling ankle injuries in recent years.
