United star’s World Cup dream in the air

Wes Brown’s World Cup dreams are hanging by a thread amid fears he may have broken his foot. The versatile Manchester United defender limped off during Saturday’s win over Wolves. He is now anxiously awaiting the results of x-rays to see how serious the injury is. Brown, who can play right-back or in the centre of defence is very much in England boss Fabio Capello's plans for the World Cup. With Liverpool right-back Glenn Johnson also out injured, along with left-back Ashley Cole, England may be found wanting in defence if Brown also can’t make the trip to South Africa.
