‘Becks can be a Golden Oldie’

Manchester United and EPL legend Teddy Sheringham believes David Beckham can nail down his place in football history as one of the game’s “Golden Oldies”. Beckham, a former team-mate of Sheringham’s at Old Trafford, turns 35 in May but is still going strong in the colours of AC Milan. He is also determined to force his way into England’s World Cup squad. "David obviously has the talent and plays a lovely game — he is a clever player and is very technical,” said Sheringham, who hung up his boots when he was 42. "His game is not about running, so he will have chances to go on for longer. It comes down to the desire to carry on putting your body through what you have to do to play a full season in competitive football."
