Tough times for Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti has five matches to save his Chelsea job. According to reports, the Italian is standing on the precipice after a terrible week in which the Blues crashed out of the Champions League against Inter Milan and had their EPL title aspirations dented after being held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Blackburn. Senior figures close to club owner Roman Abramovich are said to be blaming Ancelotti and not the players for the club’s dip, in which they have won just five of their last eleven games in all competitions. Starting with Wednesday’s clash with Portsmouth, and including the Easter Saturday visit to Old Trafford and the FA Cup semi-final clash with Aston Villa, Ancelotti is now fighting for his survival if does not want to end up as the sixth Chelsea managerial casualty since 2004.
