Roo’s ready to rule the world

Such is Wayne Rooney’s confidence that he firmly believes he is on the verge of becoming the best player on the planet. The Manchester United ace has been in incredible form this season, banging in an incredible 30 goals for the Red Devils, including four goals in two Champions League ties against Serie A giants AC Milan. Afterwards, David Beckham compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. “It’s nice to hear people talk about me in that way. If it happens and I become recognised as the best player in the world then obviously I’d be delighted,” commented Rooney on Saturday. "I feel that I am playing really well at the moment and scoring goals. I’ve no longer got a goals target because I have already gone past the target I set for myself at the start of the season.” United play Fulham on Sunday.
