United’s double whammy
Manchester United suffered two blows on Tuesday night in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Bayern Munich. Firstly, they conceded an injury time goal to go down 2-1 to the Bundesliga giants, and secondly star striker Wayne Rooney limped off the field with an ankle injury. Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson did his best to sound upbeat after the match at the Allianz Arena. "He's obviously hurt his ankle. It's too early to say [but] I don't think it's terribly serious,” he said of Rooney. United face title rivals Chelsea on Saturday, ahead of the second leg clash against Bayern on 7 April. "We didn't start the game that well," added Fergie "We gave the ball away too easily from minute one. Our possession wasn't our standard and that's something we pride ourselves on. Still it's an advantage to score away from home.”
