Walcott still harbours WC dreams
Theo Walcott knows his World Cup dreams are hanging by a thread following his awful display against Egypt on Wednesday. The Arsenal winger’s performance was so bad against the Pharaohs that former England great Chris Waddle commented afterwards: “Walcott does not understand the game and does not have a football brain.” In fairness to the 20-year-old, he was just returning from injury on Wednesday and he has shown he was it takes in an England jersey in the past. He however remained optimistic about making the 23 man squad for the finals in South Africa later this year. “I’ve definitely got a lot of work to do, without a doubt. “Hopefully I can play consistently for Arsenal, stay fit and have a good end to the season - that’s the most important thing,” commented the former Southampton star.
