Get Gerrard – Xabi

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has called on the club to do everything possible to sign Steven Gerrard. Alonso and Gerrard starred together in the heart of the Liverpool midfield for several seasons before the former departed for the Bernabeu last summer. Since then the Reds fortunes have dived with manager Rafa Benitez sacked this past week after a forgettable campaign. Said Alonso on Friday: "Steven is a legend at Liverpool. I have a lot of respect for the club but it is clear he's an awesome player. He has incredible quality." Gerrard’s future is up in the air at Anfield following Benitez’s departure. According to reports, the player wants to move to a club where he will win trophies. And with Jose Mourinho recently installed as Real boss, a move to the Spanish capital may just tempt him to leave Merseyside.
