French star booted out of WC

Nicolas Anleka has been booted out of the World Cup for insulting France coach Raymond Domenech. According to reports, the temperamental Chelsea striker verbally insulted Domenech during his country’s defeat against Mexico. He later refused to apologise. The French Football Federation said in a statement: "Faced by the refusal of the player to publicly apologise, FFF president Jean-Pierre Escalettes took the decision in total agreement with the coach and the official members of the delegation present to exclude Nicolas Anelka from the squad." Anelka, a League and FA Cup double winner with Chelsea this season, has won 71 international caps for France since making his debut for Les Bleus in 1999.
