City back in for Spanish ace

Manchester City are back in the chase for Fernando Torres. According to reports, City are monitoring developments at Liverpool, and are ready to shatter the British transfer record for the 26-year-old. The big-spending Blues believe Rafa Benitez’s exit has made signing the Spanish goal ace more likely. They will however face serious competition from Chelsea for Torres’ signature. Should their bid be unsuccessful, City are expected to turn their attention to Wolfsburg's £34m-rated Edin Dzeko.
