DD’s dream is alive
EPL Golden Boot winner Didier Drogba will feature in the forthcoming World Cup. There had been fears that the Chelsea hitman would miss the global showpiece after breaking his arm playing in a friendly international for Ivory Coast last week. The 32-year-old had surgery over the weekend, with doctors giving him the green light to play in South Africa. An official Ivory Coast statement said: "The surgery has been a success and medical staff are confident about a rapid restoration of the player." The Ivorians open their campaign against Portugal on 15 June. Drogba has netted 44 times in 69 appearances for his country.
