Another EPL star suffers WC heartbreak
Nani is the latest EPL star to be ruled out of the World Cup. The Manchester United winger, who hit a rich vein of form in the last six months of the season, broke his collar bone on Friday in Lisbon. Following a series of tests in Portugal it was confirmed that he would miss the global showpiece. The 23-year-old, who scored three goals in 11 appearances during Portugal’s qualification, will be replaced by Benfica midfielder Ruben Amorim. Nani scored six goals in 34 appearances for United this past campaign. Portugal's first match of the tournament is on 15 June against Ivory Coast in Group G, which also includes Brazil and North Korea.
