Roo set to shine – Stevie G

Steven Gerrard believes Wayne Rooney is set to shed the shackles and start banging in goals again against Germany. Striker Rooney has yet to hit the back of the net at the World Cup and has not scored for England in a competitive match for nine months. He gets another chance when the Three Lions take on their old-enemies in Bloemfontein on Sunday. "It's only a matter of time before Wayne scores in this tournament; hopefully that is tomorrow,” said England captain Gerrard. "I have every confidence he will play well. He played well in the last game and looks really sharp in training." England boss Fabio Capello was also full of praise for Rooney. "Rooney is training very well, he is scoring a lot of goals in training and we hope tomorrow will be the same," said Capello.
