City hot on Pienaar’s heels

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Everton’s highly-rated South African international Steven Pienaar. According to reports, City manager Roberto Mancini is prepared to fork out £15m for the 28-year-old who shone brightly for the Toffees this past season. Pienaar is expected to play a central role for host country South Africa in the forthcoming World Cup. Meanwhile, in other City news, the EPL’s big spenders are also reportedly trying to close a £20m deal for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure and may also move for Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
