Roo admits he’s hurting

(03-10-2010) Wayne Rooney has admitted that he is hurting following the controversy in his private life. The Manchester United striker is alleged to have romped with a prostitute while his wife Coleen was pregnant. He is now fighting to save his marriage while also suffering an alarming loss of form on the pitch. "I'm only a human being, I hurt as well,” said the 24-year-old on Saturday. "But I need to get through this and get back to playing football the way I know I can. I'm sure everything will settle down after that." Asked if his personal problems had affected performances on the pitch, Rooney added: "I can't say 'Yes' and I can't say 'No.' It's obviously been a hard time, but I need to try to get back to doing what I do best and playing football the way I can."
