Carragher welcomes Reds takeover bid

(07-10-2010) Jamie Carragher has welcomed news of the proposed takeover of the Liverpool Football Club. On Wednesday New England Sports Ventures (NESV), the parent company of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, had a £300m bid accepted by the Anfield board. Veteran defender Carragher believes it would be a good move for the Merseyside and hopes it will happen as soon as possible so players can focus on lifting the club oout of the relegation zone. "Everyone knows it'll be a good thing for the club,” Carragher told.
