Red Devils confirm interest in Chilean sensation

(26-09-2010) Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the club are interested in Chile striker Alexis Sanchez. The 22-year-old, who currently plays for Serie A team Udinese, caught the eye at the World Cup in South Africa. "We have looked at Sanchez and he has impressed us," said Ferguson on Saturday. "As have other players. "He has had very good games and is an interesting project. We have gathered some background, as with other footballers at his level, but nothing more than this - for the moment."
